First thing’s first, start where you are – this is gang work, and we are grateful for you!
Step 1 –
Pick a date and time and choose your location.
you don’t need to live on a beach to start a clean-up!
Think globally, act locally – step outside and explore the trash world right outside of your door or pick a location that isn’t being addressed by another local effort near you.
is your local beach dirty?
is your river lined with garbage?
local park littered with snack trash?
Pick the place that has meaning to you,
that you can visualize beautiful and clean – make it happen
the world is yours!
Step 2 –
Gather your trash tools
Check your home to find tools for the clean-up:
black garbage bags,
bins or buckets,
reusable or single use trash gloves
positive mental attitude
Step 3 –
make a plan for the trash disposal
will you be using public cans or a dumpster?
Research local landfill / disposal spots near you
Step 4 –
Take precaution and safety when cleaning
items to avoid:
hazardous and corrosive objects
Step 5 –
Assemble your team
Ask a friend or family member to join the fun
Step 6 –
Stay safe gang
Avoid high (car) traffic areas
avoid use of headphones
or restrictive clothing
dress appropriately for weather
wear boots or closed toes shoes
invest in a gang safety vest (if able)
Step 7 –
thank you for lending a hand to beautify your hood and build a healthy planet
We are organizing clean ups 1x a week across Canada, check out our social pages to keep up with upcoming next dates. We will also share information in our gang newsletters.
